Getting there

Getting to Hangzhou.

Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport is unusually well connected for a checkup trip: the Hangzhou municipal government's transport listing shows the airport served by three separate metro lines — Line 1, Line 7 and Line 19 — rather than a single airport shuttle line. That matters if your hotel is not downtown, because it often removes one transfer. Hangzhou East Railway Station, the main high-speed rail gateway from Shanghai, Nanjing and Suzhou, appears on Line 1, Line 4, Line 6 and Line 19, so most arrivals reach the city centre on rail without needing a taxi. If you are combining a checkup with travel elsewhere in the Yangtze River Delta, arriving by high-speed rail into Hangzhou East is usually the simplest option.
