Professional Teeth Whitening in China: Cost, Cities & English Service (2026)
Share
If you are visiting China — for travel, business, the Canton Fair, or a health check-up — a professional teeth-whitening session is one of the easiest "while you're here" upgrades to fit into a trip. It takes about an hour, results are immediate, and it costs a fraction of what you would pay at home.
This guide covers what professional whitening in China costs, how it compares to the US and UK, which cities we cover, and how the English-speaking booking works.
How much does teeth whitening cost in China?
In-office, professionally supervised cold-light (LED-accelerated) whitening in China is fixed and transparent:
| Treatment | Price per session (China) | Typical US / UK price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard 17% gel | $169 | US $300–$1,000 · UK: not available at 17% (UK limit: 6% hydrogen peroxide) |
UK clinics are limited by law to gels of 6% hydrogen peroxide or less, so UK prices are for a lower-strength treatment rather than the same one. (Prices above are per single session, in Beijing/Shanghai/Guangzhou/Shenzhen; other cities on request.)
Doing a course? Stubborn or deep staining may need more than one session — ask us for a written quote for the full course before you book.
Which gel do we use?
We use a 17% gel ($169 per session) — the lower-strength end of professional in-office whitening. Higher-concentration gels (up to about 40%) lift shade faster per session, with more short-term sensitivity; SinoCareLink does not offer them. If your staining is heavy, tell us your goal when you book and we will tell you honestly whether 17% is likely to reach it and how many sessions it may take.

Why visitors choose to whiten in China
- Same-day, one-hour treatment — fits into a travel or business itinerary
- Lower price than in-office whitening in the US, where a session typically costs $300–$1,000, often with a stronger gel than our 17% (Zoom, for example, is about 25%); UK clinics are limited by law to gels of 6% hydrogen peroxide or less, so UK prices are for a lower-strength treatment
- English-speaking coordination for booking; an English-speaking companion at the clinic can be added for $100 per half day
- Fixed online pricing — you pay the agreed session price upfront; nothing extra at the clinic for the agreed treatment
- Easy to pair with a health check-up or dental visit on the same trip
Cities we cover
We arrange whitening at vetted clinics in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, with other cities available on request. Shenzhen is especially convenient for Hong Kong residents — a short cross-border trip is enough for a whitening session.
Your whitening appointment, step by step
Every session follows the same dentist-supervised, in-clinic protocol — a clear 7-step process so you know exactly what to expect:
- Oral examination — a dentist checks your teeth and gums and confirms whitening is suitable (it works on natural enamel only — not crowns, veneers or fillings).
- Shade photo & record — your starting tooth colour is photographed and matched to a shade guide, so the before/after is measurable.
- Consultation & informed consent — the dentist explains the expected result, possible sensitivity and aftercare, and you sign a consent form.
- Whitening gel applied — pharmaceutical-grade gel is applied in timed stages over about 30 minutes, with your gums protected throughout.
- Cold-light activation — LED cold-light accelerates the gel to lift surface and deeper staining, with no heat stress on the tooth nerve.
- Shade comparison — your new colour is checked against the shade guide so you can see the lift achieved on the day.
- Aftercare briefing & checkout — you get clear aftercare instructions before you leave.
The whole appointment takes about 45–60 minutes, with visible results the same day. With normal care, results typically last 1–2 years, with a quick top-up before a future trip.
Aftercare: for the first 48 hours avoid coffee, tea, red wine, cola, berries, coloured mouthwash and smoking, which can re-stain freshly whitened enamel. Mild, short-term sensitivity is normal and usually settles within 24 hours.
Who it's not for
Whitening will not change the colour of crowns, veneers, bonding or fillings, and is not recommended during pregnancy, under age 16, or with active gum disease or untreated decay. We confirm suitability before you pay.
