Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA) Add-On — China
Couldn't load pickup availability
Coronary CT angiography (CCTA) — anatomic visualization of the coronary arteries to screen for or rule out significant coronary artery disease.
What's included
- Appointment booking at a partnered Grade-3A hospital with cardiac imaging capability
- Pre-scan check-in support and on-site coordination
- Full English-language report translation
Clinical use
CCTA visualizes coronary lumen anatomy and detects atherosclerotic plaque (calcified and non-calcified). Useful for evaluating chest pain with intermediate pre-test probability of coronary disease, or risk stratifying adults aged 40+ with cardiovascular risk factors. Requires IV iodine contrast; renal function check is performed before the scan.
Difference from coronary calcium (CAC) score
CCTA uses iodine contrast and shows the entire coronary artery anatomy (calcified + non-calcified plaque, lumen narrowing). CAC is non-contrast and shows only calcified plaque burden. CCTA is more comprehensive but with slightly higher radiation; CAC is faster and lower dose, used for asymptomatic risk stratification.
Turnaround
Most reports released 48–72 hours after scan. English translation typically adds 48–72 hours.
🩺 Before Your Scan — Preparation Instructions
- Fast about 4 hours (plain water allowed).
- No caffeine for ~12 hours before — no coffee, tea, energy drinks, or chocolate (caffeine raises heart rate and can spoil the scan).
- You may be given medication to slow your heart rate. Bring a list of your current medications, and tell us if you take nitrates or erectile-dysfunction drugs (e.g. sildenafil/Viagra).
- CCTA uses iodinated contrast (provided by the hospital, included in your package). A recent creatinine / eGFR blood test is required before the scan (a report from the last 30 days is accepted). It is mandatory if you are over 60, or have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart failure, or kidney disease; others are advised to check too. If you take metformin, by hospital rule it must be stopped for 48 hours before and 48 hours after a contrast scan. Tell us about any iodine/contrast allergy, and drink plenty of water afterward.
These are general guidelines. Your SinoCareLink coordinator will confirm the exact instructions for your appointment based on your health profile and the hospital’s requirements. Any contrast dye needed is provided by the hospital and included in your package.
