About this listing: SinoCareLink is a bilingual medical consulting and concierge service. We coordinate appointments, accompany you, and translate care at licensed Tier 3A grade hospitals in mainland China. All clinical procedures are performed by the hospital and its CFDA-certified physicians — SinoCareLink does not provide medical services directly.
Sedated GI Endoscopy in China
Gastroscopy + Colonoscopy with Bilingual Medical Companion
We offer two service options for international patients seeking high-quality gastrointestinal screening in China.
Both packages include the same core procedure, bilingual support, appointment coordination, and sedation services. The primary difference is the hospital selection.
Package Options
Standard Package
Suitable for most patients seeking high-quality gastrointestinal screening at a leading Chinese Tier 3 public hospital.
Includes:
- Sedated gastroscopy and/or colonoscopy
- Hospital appointment booking
- Bilingual medical companion
- Translation assistance
- Bowel preparation guidance
- Procedure-day coordination
- Official report collection
Premium Package
Designed for patients who prefer access to a select group of highly sought-after Tier 3A public hospitals with strong reputations in gastroenterology and advanced endoscopy services.

- Access to selected premium hospital partners
- Priority placement within our highest-demand hospital network
- Hospitals known for strong gastroenterology expertise and academic reputation
Please note that both packages are provided through licensed Tier 3 public hospitals. The medical procedure itself remains the same. The difference lies primarily in hospital selection and appointment availability.
Optional GI Biopsy & Polyp Removal Deposit
Purchase the optional Biopsy & Polyp Removal Deposit if you would like to authorize immediate treatment during the procedure (where clinically appropriate).
- Fully refundable add-on
- Hospital costs passed through at no markup
- Unused balance refunded within 5 business days after the procedure
- Final settlement based on actual hospital charges
If you choose not to purchase the deposit, the endoscopist will document any findings in the report, and any necessary follow-up treatment can be arranged separately.
Preparation (general — your service order specifies the exact protocol)
Each hospital uses a slightly different protocol. Common elements:
- 1–3 days before: light, low-residue diet (no whole grains, no seeds, no skin-on fruits)
- Day before: clear liquid diet from noon; strict no-food after 22:00
- Morning of (or evening before, depending on hospital): bowel preparation drink (mannitol or PEG-based solution, 2–3 L taken in stages)
- Day of: no food or water for at least 8 hours before the appointment
- Companion required: an adult must accompany you and sign consent — you cannot do this procedure alone
Day-of requirements (important)
- You must be accompanied by an adult who can sign documents — our bilingual companion fulfills this role
- No driving for 24 hours after the procedure (anesthesia)
- No activities requiring focus (signing contracts, operating machinery) for the rest of the day
- Light meal allowed approximately 1 hour after the procedure, once the sedation has fully cleared
The procedure flow varies by hospital — service order is authoritative
Anesthesia evaluation, blood-draw requirement (most hospitals: none required), wait times, recovery room handoff, and report delivery all vary across the Tier 3A hospitals we work with. Once your appointment is confirmed, you will receive a detailed service confirmation order from your SinoCareLink coordinator that specifies your hospital's exact day-of protocol, what to bring, where to arrive, and what to expect.

Pair this with a comprehensive health check-up
Sedated GI endoscopy is most valuable as part of a broader preventive screening. Many of our clients combine this procedure with our comprehensive health checkup packages for a complete same-trip workup. Talk to our coordinator after booking and we'll align both services on the same hospital visit when possible.
Final note: This product page describes the general service. Hospital-specific details (exact location, day-of timetable, prep protocol, fees) are provided in your service confirmation order after booking. If anything in your service order differs from this page, the service order takes precedence.
Important — what this price covers
- This price covers the sedated endoscopy examination only (gastroscopy and/or colonoscopy). It does not include polyp removal or biopsy.
- Polyp removal and biopsy are charged separately by the hospital, based on what is found during the procedure. A refundable deposit applies — see the “GI Biopsy & Polyp Removal Deposit” add-on. Any cost estimate is for reference only; the final amount is determined by the actual findings and is settled directly with the hospital.
- Not all polyps can be removed during the same procedure. Larger or more complex polyps may require a separate follow-up admission. Even if you have pre-authorised removal during the procedure, on-the-spot removal cannot be guaranteed and remains at the treating endoscopist’s clinical discretion.
