SinoCareLink Pricing Explained: No Hidden Fees

SinoCareLink Pricing Explained: No Hidden Fees

Sinocarelink Pricing No Hidden Fees

Opaque pricing is the most common complaint about medical tourism facilitators. Flat-rate packages with unclear inclusions, hospital markups, commission kickbacks, and surprise add-ons have earned the industry a reputation for hidden costs. This article is a transparent breakdown of how SinoCareLink actually prices services — and why transparent pricing should be non-negotiable in choosing any facilitator.

Our Pricing Principle: Separation

We charge a coordination fee. The hospital charges hospital fees. We never mark up hospital costs or accept hospital commissions that could bias recommendations. You see exactly what each party is charging.

This separation matters because:

  • Commission-based facilitators have incentive to recommend hospitals paying highest kickbacks rather than best fit
  • Markup-based pricing can double or triple your total cost without your knowledge
  • Transparent pricing aligns facilitator incentive with your medical outcome, not hospital kickback maximization

Our Fee Structure

Coordination Fee Tiers

Our fee scales with trip complexity, not hospital bill size. Four main tiers:

  • Basic coordination (USD 200-400): single-procedure trip (checkup, single specialist consultation, single dental appointment). Includes: hospital selection, appointment booking, basic translation, arrival coordination.
  • Standard coordination (USD 400-800): 3-5 day comprehensive checkup trip with multiple specialist consultations. Includes: everything above plus bilingual report preparation, video follow-up consultation, multi-appointment coordination.
  • Complex case coordination (USD 800-1,500): multi-hospital evaluations, second-opinion coordination for oncology or complex cases, multi-day surgical prep. Includes: physician-to-physician coordination, multidisciplinary team review, full case file preparation.
  • Long-duration / major surgical (USD 1,500-3,000): 10-21 day surgical trips or extended treatment. Includes: hospital-selection second-opinion, full-trip accompaniment, surgical coordinator presence, post-surgical follow-up, family liaison.

What's Included in Every Tier

  • Hospital selection and credentialing verification
  • Appointment scheduling with senior physicians
  • Prior medical record translation to Chinese (if needed)
  • On-trip coordinator accompaniment
  • Professional medical interpretation during consultations
  • Bilingual medical report delivery
  • 24/7 support line during your trip
  • Post-trip follow-up coordination

What's Not Included (Pass-Through Costs)

  • Hospital fees (paid directly to hospital at hospital rates)
  • Flights, hotels, and ground transportation (can be arranged through us or independently)
  • Meals and personal expenses
  • Travel insurance (required, arranged independently)
  • Any add-on services explicitly quoted separately

Transparency Guarantees

Upfront Quotations

Before you commit to anything, you receive:

  • Itemized coordination fee based on your specific case
  • Estimated hospital costs with high/low range from the actual hospital
  • Flight and hotel cost estimates
  • Total budget range for the trip

No Hidden Commissions

We do not accept commissions from hospitals. We are paid only by clients for coordination. This eliminates the structural conflict of interest present in commission-based models.

Direct Hospital Payment

You pay the hospital directly for medical services. We don't intermediate those payments or collect any portion. Hospital invoice, your payment, no markup.

Fee Refund Policy

  • Full refund if we cannot find a suitable hospital match within 2 weeks
  • Partial refund if you cancel trip before appointments are booked
  • No refund after on-ground coordination begins, since work is completed

Example: Typical Checkup Trip Cost Breakdown

A representative 5-day comprehensive checkup trip for a 50-year-old male in Shanghai:

  • Flights (round-trip US-Shanghai economy): USD 1,200
  • Hotel (4 nights at business-grade hotel): USD 640
  • Comprehensive checkup package at Zhongshan Hospital International: USD 1,200
  • Add-on colonoscopy: USD 300
  • Ground transport (airport + hospital transfers): USD 80
  • Meals and incidentals: USD 200
  • SinoCareLink coordination fee: USD 500
  • Travel insurance: USD 150
  • Total: USD 4,270

Equivalent US services: USD 6,500-15,000 depending on region and provider. Even with conservative US pricing, the Chinese trip saves USD 2,000-10,000.

Cost vs. Value Tradeoffs

When Using a Facilitator Is Worth the Fee

  • First-time China visit
  • Complex case requiring expert hospital matching
  • Non-Chinese-speaking traveler
  • Older traveler or mobility-constrained
  • Multi-family-member trip
  • Executive with time constraints

When Coordination Fee Provides Less Value

  • Repeat visits to hospitals you know
  • Straightforward single-procedure trip
  • Mandarin-fluent traveler
  • Using premium international hospital with own service

Pricing Comparison with Other Facilitator Models

  • Commission-based facilitators: "free" to client, but hospital pays 10-25% commission that gets passed into hospital pricing; total cost often higher than transparent model
  • Package-markup facilitators: charge bundled price with opaque inclusions; often 2-3x the coordination-fee-only model
  • Travel agency medical add-ons: low fees but limited medical expertise and quality control
  • Concierge insurance services: included in premium international insurance; quality varies

Transparent coordination fee model (what we use) typically has the highest quality-to-cost ratio for serious medical travelers.

Hospital Cost Expectations

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you ever add markup on hospital bills?

Never. Hospital invoices flow directly to you. Our fee is separate and disclosed upfront.

What if hospital fees come in higher than estimated?

Estimates are high-low range based on typical patient profiles. If add-on testing during your visit changes costs, the hospital issues an updated invoice — we coordinate but don't add markup.

Is there a fee for the initial consultation?

No. Initial consultation and cost estimates are complimentary before any commitment.

Can I negotiate the fee?

Coordination fees are standardized by tier; we apply the same rates to every client. For extreme complexity or unusual cases, we may adjust but explain the reason upfront.
