Medical Services During APEC Shenzhen 2026 | Screening & Dental for Delegates

For delegates, executives and accompanying travellers · 18–19 November 2026 and the surrounding week

You are in Shenzhen for a summit, not for healthcare. But you have gaps in the schedule, medical care here costs a fraction of what it does at home, and the thing standing between you and using that time well is not price or quality — it is arranging it in a language you speak, at a facility that is expecting you.

That is what this page is for.

What we arrange

Comprehensive health screening

A full screening — bloods, imaging, physical assessment and the associated consultations — is a half-day on site, usually starting early and fasting. It is the single most common thing our business-travel clients add to a China trip, because a half-day is genuinely available to most people during a week-long event and the equivalent screening at home is both slower to book and considerably more expensive.

Package contents and current pricing are on the live product pages — see Shenzhen health checkup packages and prices.

Diagnostic imaging

MRI, CT and ultrasound, arranged as standalone studies or as part of a screening. Each imaging service has a Standard and an Urgent (within 3 days) option — see the pricing note below.

Dental

The category that fits a short trip best, because much of it is genuinely single-visit:

Treatment Time on site Indicative price*
Scale and polish 30–60 min from $29 USD
Deep cleaning (PMTC) single visit $129 USD
Composite filling ~60 min, up to 3–4 teeth per sitting $139 USD per tooth
In-office whitening 60–90 min, single session $169 USD
Treatment planning consultation single visit Free — remote review with a written plan and quote
Single-tooth implant assessment + placement this trip; crown ~4 months later from $799 USD

* Indicative, in USD, verified against our live listings in mid-2026. Confirm current pricing on the product page before booking — this page is not a quotation.

English coordination throughout

Not "there is an English-speaking doctor somewhere in the building." We coordinate the appointment, attend with you, handle registration, and produce your documentation in English.

Report reconstruction in English

Your report is rebuilt in English faithfully — every value, unit and finding, in the original structure — so that your own doctor can act on it. This matters more than most visitors expect; a machine-translated Chinese medical report is frequently not clinically usable at home.

Timings: what is realistic

Appointment lead time Standard, or Urgent (within 3 days) as a +US$100 option on the service
Screening, time on site Half a day
Dental (cleaning / filling / whitening) 60–90 minutes, single visit
Written report 1–3 weeks
Urgent findings Communicated to you immediately — not held for the report
Dental implants, full pathway ~4 months across two visits. Can be started on this trip

Booking speed and the urgent option

Every service has a Standard option and, for most, an Urgent (within 3 days) option.

Urgent (within 3 days) +US$100, selected on the service you are booking — not a separate purchase
If we cannot secure that window US$50 is retained as a coordination fee, US$50 is refunded
What the fee buys Priority coordination and scheduling — it does not change the clinical service
Where urgent appointments go A partner facility in our Shenzhen network. The facility for an urgent booking may differ from the one running standard packages — we confirm which when we confirm the appointment

On the imaging services this appears directly as a variant: CT, for example, offers Standard, Advanced, Urgent Standard (within 3 days) and Urgent Advanced (within 3 days).

During APEC week the city is unusually busy. Book early rather than paying to compress the timeline — the urgent option is a fallback, not a plan.

On same-day reports

We do not issue same-day reports, and we would treat that offer with caution from any provider.

A screening produces results in stages. Some bloods come back quickly; imaging has to be read by a radiologist; pathology, where it applies, takes longer again. Assembling that into a complete report — and reconstructing it in clinically usable English — takes 1 to 3 weeks.

In practice this means you will be home before your report is. That is how the timeline genuinely works. If something urgent is found, you hear about it immediately.

Why during APEC week

The 33rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting runs 18–19 November 2026 in Shenzhen. But the Leaders' Meeting is two days inside a much longer cluster — the APEC CEO Summit, the joint ministerial meeting of foreign and trade ministers, and the delegation and bilateral programming around them. Most business attendees are in the city for the better part of a week.

Which is why this works. A half-day screening does not fit a two-day trip. It fits a six-day one comfortably.

Three practical notes:

  • Book before you arrive. The urgent option exists, but a summit week is not when to rely on it.
  • Tell us what might move. Delegation schedules shift. We would rather build around that than rebook you twice.
  • Expect road closures and heavy traffic around whichever areas the organisers designate. We factor transport into the timing.

We do not name the summit venue on this page. As of August 2026 no official source has confirmed one — several travel aggregators have published a location, but Shenzhen municipal releases and APEC's own materials name the city, not a building.

Insurance and payment

Insurance. Whether your policy covers treatment in mainland China depends on the policy. Some international plans operate direct billing arrangements with specific facilities; many reimburse against documentation instead. Tell us your insurer when you enquire and we will tell you what we can confirm and what you need to check directly with them.

Two things to sort before you travel: whether pre-authorisation is required, and exactly what documentation your insurer needs. Assembling the paperwork at the time of treatment is straightforward; reconstructing it afterwards is not.

Payment. International cards are accepted at the facilities we work with. Confirm the method when you book.

What we will not do

We would rather lose the booking than mislead you, so, plainly:

  • We will not promise you a same-day report. Reports take 1–3 weeks.
  • We will not tell you one hospital is better than another. We can tell you what we are able to arrange and where; we do not publish clinical rankings or comparisons between institutions.
  • We will not compress a treatment that should not be compressed. Implants take about four months. Anything with a recovery period needs to be discussed against your flight, before booking rather than after.
  • We will not advise you on your visa eligibility. Check with the Chinese embassy or consulate for your country, or your airline.

Request an appointment

Tell us four things and we will come back with what is available:

  1. Your dates in Shenzhen — including which parts of the schedule are soft
  2. What you are interested in — screening, imaging, dental, or a combination
  3. Your insurer, if you intend to claim
  4. Anything clinically relevant — existing conditions, medications, previous findings

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a health check done during APEC week?

Yes. A comprehensive screening is a half-day on site. If you need it inside three days, select the Urgent (within 3 days) option on the service (+US$100). Given how busy the city will be that week, book before you travel rather than relying on the urgent option on arrival.

How fast can you get me an appointment?

Most services carry an Urgent (within 3 days) option at +US$100, selected on the service you are booking. If we cannot secure the appointment inside that window, US$50 is retained as a coordination fee and US$50 is refunded. Earlier is better during summit week.

When will I get my results?

The written report takes 1–3 weeks, so you will most likely receive it after you return home. If anything urgent is found, you are told immediately rather than waiting for the report.

Can I get results the same day?

No. A full screening report requires imaging to be read and, where relevant, pathology to be processed. Any provider offering same-day results is describing something narrower than a complete report.

Will the appointment be in English?

Yes. We coordinate the booking, attend with you, handle registration, and produce your documentation in English. This is not something to assume if you approach a hospital independently.

Will my report be usable by my doctor at home?

That is what the English reconstruction is for — every value, unit and finding rebuilt faithfully in the original structure, rather than a machine translation. Ask any provider how their English version is produced before you book.

Can I have dental work done in one visit?

Cleaning, fillings and in-office whitening are single-visit treatments of roughly 60–90 minutes. Implants are not — the full pathway is about four months across two visits, although the assessment and first stage can be done on this trip.

Does my insurance cover it?

It depends on your policy. Some international plans have direct billing arrangements, others reimburse against documentation. Check whether pre-authorisation is needed and what documents are required before you travel.

Can accompanying family members book too?

Yes. Tell us who is coming when you enquire so we can schedule together where it makes sense.

Where is the summit venue?

Not confirmed by any official source at the time of writing. We do not repeat unconfirmed venue information — check official APEC China 2026 and Shenzhen municipal channels closer to the date.
