Things to Do in Shenzhen: Robot Valley, Parks, Skyline Views and a 2-Day Plan

Short answer: The best things to do in Shenzhen mix the city's tech side with its parks and skyline:

  • apply ahead to visit the Shenzhen Robot Valley showroom (appointment only, booked directly with the showroom);
  • walk the Huaqiangbei electronics markets;
  • see the city from Free Sky on the 116th floor of Ping An Finance Center;
  • spend an evening at Shenzhen Bay Park or Lianhuashan Park, both free;
  • add Window of the World if you like theme parks.

Two days is enough for the highlights. If you want to use the trip for a health check too, a standard checkup takes one fasted morning, which leaves the afternoon free.

Opening hours and prices below were checked on 20 October 2026 against the sources linked in each section. They change, so confirm before you go.

1. Shenzhen Robot Valley showroom (Nanshan)

Shenzhen's robotics cluster has a visitor showroom. Its official site describes a 1,500 m² space with products from more than 50 companies, covering humanoid robots, consumer and service robots, and core components such as dexterous hands and joint modules. There's also a sky deck more than 200 metres up (szrobotvalley.com).

  • Booking: by appointment only. The site says "please do not walk in". You apply online, the team reviews your request and replies by email, then you pay (booking page). SinoCareLink isn't affiliated with the showroom and can't book visits for you.
  • Price: as of 20 October 2026, individual visits are listed at RMB 500 per person, with groups of up to 50 visitors (same page).
  • Time: about an hour; the FAQ says 60–90 minutes depending on the demos you choose.
  • Where: Nanshan, Shenzhen (robotuo.com).

Tip: book only through the official showroom page above, and have a backup plan for that morning in case your preferred date isn't confirmed.

2. Huaqiangbei electronics markets (Futian)

Huaqiangbei is several blocks of multi-storey electronics markets, from components and circuit boards to phone accessories and repair counters. It's the clearest look you'll get at how a hardware supply chain works. Entry is free.

  • Hours: the markets keep business hours, roughly 9:00–9:30 to 18:00–18:30 (GoChinaTravel, last verified by that site 9 October 2026). Late morning is the easiest time to browse.
  • Metro: Huaqiangbei station is on Lines 2 and 7. Line 1 stops at Huaqiang Road, a different station at the south end of the street (same source).
  • Buying: prices are often negotiable. For a branded phone, laptop or earbuds, the brand's authorised store is the simplest way to get the official warranty; elsewhere, ask what warranty is included before you pay.

3. Free Sky observation deck, Ping An Finance Center (Futian)

The observation deck sits on the 116th floor of Ping An Finance Center, 5033 Yitian Road, Futian. It's reached from Shopping Park metro station, Exit D (Free Sky).

  • Hours: 10:00–20:00 daily, last entry 19:15 (Free Sky). Hours can change for events, so check on the day.
  • Tickets: adult tickets are listed at RMB 200 on Free Sky's own ticket page (Free Sky tickets, checked 20 October 2026).

4. Shenzhen Bay Park (Nanshan)

A waterfront park running about 13 km along Shenzhen Bay, facing Hong Kong across the water. Locals come here to walk, cycle and watch the sunset.

5. Lianhuashan Park (Futian)

A hill park in the city centre with views over the Futian skyline from the top.

  • Hours: 6:00–23:00, last entry 22:30 (Shenzhen Municipal Government).
  • Address: 6030 Hongli Road, Futian.
  • Metro: Children's Palace (Shaoniangong) station, Exit F1, about 160 m away (same source); Lines 3 and 4 stop there (Shenchuang).

6. Window of the World (Nanshan)

A large theme park with miniature versions of famous landmarks, plus evening shows.

  • Hours: usually 9:30–21:30, with evening entry from 18:00 (Window of the World). Check the park's official ticketing mini-program on the day.
  • Tickets: adult day tickets are listed at RMB 220 and evening tickets at RMB 120 (Shenzhen Bendibao, updated 31 August 2026). Prices can change on holidays; the park's official mini-program shows the day's price. Overseas visitors can book with a passport on international ticketing platforms such as Trip.com or Klook; bring the same passport to the gate.
  • Metro: Window of the World station on Lines 1 and 2, Exit J (same Bendibao page).

A 2-day Shenzhen itinerary (with an optional half-day health check)

Day 1 — Nanshan.

  • Morning: a pre-booked Robot Valley showroom visit.
  • Afternoon: Window of the World.
  • Sunset: Shenzhen Bay Park.

Day 2 — Futian.

  • Late morning: Huaqiangbei.
  • Late afternoon: Free Sky.

Our recommended Shenzhen hospital, Taikang Qianhai Hospital, is in Qianhai, Nanshan District. That's the same district as the Robot Valley showroom and Shenzhen Bay Park. Check travel times on a map app when you plan the day.

You get the preliminary results discussed on the day and a full English report in 2–3 weeks to take home to your own doctor. A checkup is screening, not a diagnosis.

Fitting a health checkup into your Shenzhen trip

Prices are in US dollars, read from our live booking system on 20 October 2026:

Option Price (USD)
Men's Essential / Women's Essential checkup $399 / $499
Men's Premium / Women's Premium checkup $599 / $699
MRI screening, Shenzhen (1.5T / 3.0T) from $399 / from $599
English-speaking companion, half day (4 hours) $50 with a checkup package · $100 on its own
English-speaking companion, full day (8 hours) $200
  • See the Shenzhen health checkup guide and the checkup packages.
  • For MRI screening, compare the 1.5T and 3.0T packages, which scan selected body regions one by one rather than in a single head-to-toe sweep. MRI isn't suitable for everyone: tell us before booking if you have a pacemaker or any other implant, device or metal in your body (including dental implants), if you are or may be pregnant, or if you're claustrophobic. The imaging team makes the final decision, sometimes only on the day. Screening scans can show incidental findings that need follow-up with your own doctor.
  • A medical companion can handle registration and interpreting at the hospital. Read more about what a companion does.

Visa and entry

Citizens of some countries can visit China visa-free for up to 30 days for business, tourism, family visits, exchanges or transit, and some travellers continuing to a third country or region can use 240-hour visa-free transit instead. Medical treatment is not among the listed purposes of the 30-day scheme, so if your trip includes a checkup, check the right entry route for your passport with the Chinese embassy or consulate before you book. The rules change; see our China visa guide and 240-hour transit guide. We don't arrange visas.
